Meanwhile, I spoke to an enthusiastic group of 350 in Chester County, Pennsylvania, this afternoon. The event was sponsored by the Chester County Library System, and many of those attending were regular readers of my former column in The Philadelphia Inquirer. It was good to be back in my own backyard. Everyone made me feel like the prodigal son welcomed home. Then I caught a flight to Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina, where I will be doing appearances for the next two days before heading home again.

I know you're from Michigan, but we hope you now consider the Philadelphia area home. We miss you in the Inky.
I have just finished reading Marley & me and I'm really impressed by the way you indited your story.
John, you made me treasure my dog again. Thank you so much for telling us how adorable Marley can get.
ps: I cried while reading the ending. It is extremely heartwarming. Sure hope that you will write about Gracie soon. :)
